Robin Earle founded Extreme Rigging in 2006, bringing together a career spanning commercial diving, major live events, concert touring, theatre, technical production and specialist Film & TV rigging.

Robin’s background in live entertainment goes back well before Extreme Rigging was established. After beginning his career in commercial diving, he moved into the events industry and project-managed the Dance Tent at Glastonbury Festival during its first three years, before going on the road with major touring artists including Massive Attack and Bruce Springsteen.
Those years in festivals touring and live production provided a strong grounding in the realities of delivering major events: tight schedules, changing venues, logistics, temporary infrastructure, equipment, crews and the need to solve problems quickly without compromising safety or the show.
His work subsequently expanded through theatre, live events and film premieres and into increasingly specialist Film & TV rigging. Robin developed a strong reputation within high-end film and television production, working as a Head Rigger, Head Stunt Rigger, Specialist Rigger and Head Safety Rigger across major international productions.
His public screen credits include productions such as Skyfall, Hugo, Beauty and the Beast, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Angel Has Fallen, Game of Thrones, A Discovery of Witches, Havoc and Fountain of Youth.
That combination of touring and live-event experience with high-end Film & TV technical standards remains an important part of Extreme Rigging today. The company brings the same attention to planning, engineering, safety and delivery to a concert, festival, theatre, sporting event, brand activation or venue installation that it brings to a major film production.
Under Robin’s direction, Extreme Rigging has developed beyond specialist rigging into a broader projects, consultancy, technical production, equipment rental, equipment sales and installation business, working across live entertainment, touring, festivals, theatre, venues, museums and galleries, exhibitions, Film & TV and other technically demanding environments.
Robin remains hands-on and accessible, particularly at the early stages of a project where experience can help turn an idea or difficult technical brief into a practical solution. His approach is straightforward: understand what the client is trying to achieve, give clear technical advice, select the right equipment and people, plan the work properly and manage it safely through to completion.
For Robin, the next stage of Extreme Rigging is not about leaving its Film & TV heritage behind. It is about applying the experience, technical standards and reputation built at the highest levels of screen production and major touringacross a much broader range of projects and clients.
